Lionel Messi has dropped a major hint about about his future.
Messi, wanted by a host of clubs including Manchester City and Chelsea, was speaking at a press conference prior to the Ballon D’Or ceremony , where he was competing with Manuel Neuer and Cristiano Ronaldo for the top award of the world’s best player.
Messi said: ‘I’m not sure where I will be next year. In the football world so many things can change overnight,’ he said.
‘I’ve always said I will end my career at Barcelona, but as Cristiano [Ronaldo] says only God knows the future.’
Messi has been strongly linked with a move away from the Nou Camp recently.
But in an interview with Barca TV on Sunday, he dismissed talk of unrest as ‘lies’ and appeared to commit his future to the Catalan giants.
But now, after these comments at the Ballon D’Or press conference, it seems even he doesn’t know where he will be plying his trade next season.
