Fierce-rivals Manchester United and Liverpool are set to battle it out for £34m-rated Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio.
The Argentinian international has been in fine form for Benfica during the past two seasons, and his consistent displays have attracted several teams from across Europe, including; AC Milan, Hamburg, Monaco and Valladolid.
All interested teams are considering making a January move for Salvio, but Liverpool and United are expected to be in pole position to land the 24-year-old due to them being in England and in the Premier League.
However, according to reports in Portugal, officials from AC Milan have already been to watch some Benfica matches and have been scouting Salvio with a plan on making a New Year move.
Due to the high amount of interest in their star, Benfica have slapped a £34million price-tag on the Argentine’s head, but it’s believed that Liverpool and United are both prepared to spend that much on the winger.
