Shaqiri has been handed an improved contract offer by Bayern.
However Liverpool’s interest has yet to subside, and are prepared to offer Bayern a generous deal to lure the Swiss international to Anfield.
Shaqiri would represent another big money deal for Brendan Rodgers’ side, who appear intent on building on last season’s phenomenal campaign.
The tricky winger would join Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can in Merseyside, and help to bolster the Northern Irishman’s Champions League bound squad.
The much coveted Shaqiri has an abundance of experience, and has already secured two Bundesliga titles, and a Champions League winners medal.
Ottmar Hitzfeld’s team’s cruel exit from the World Cup is likely to accelerate any decision from Shaqiri, who has two-years remaining on his current Bayern deal.
