Liverpool have targeted Karim Benzema as the man they’d like to replace Luis Suarez at Anfield and boss Brendan Rodgers is planning an audacios bid for the striker who was impressive during his time at the World Cup.

Liverpool look to pocket around £70 million for their prized asset and the Reds look set to immediately spend £40 million on Karim Benzema. The Anfield side know they need a striker to fill the void left by Suarez and with Real Madrid chasing Radamel Falcao, Benzema could become available.

Benzema has reportedly declined a new contract at the Santiagi Bernabeu and a £40 million offer could be one that is to hard for Real Madrid to refuse as they look to sign both Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez from Monaco.

Rodgers is due to sit down with senior officials of Liverpool this week to discuss how the club can replace Luis Suarez and Benzema is regarded as a top option.
