The Turkish side are planning a move for Remy if a deal for Mario Gomez fails
Loic Remy could be on his way to Turkey if Besiktas fail to secure a deal for Mario Gomez.
According to reports, Chelsea are more than willing to let the striker leave Stamford Bridge and the Turkish side could be willing to sign the Frenchman on a permanent deal if they fail in their bid to land Gomez permanently.
The German international spent last season on loan at Besiktas and after impressing for them – so much so that he featured for his country at the Euros this summer – they are eager to bring him back to the club on a permanent basis.
Fiorentina are believed to be open to offers for the 31-year old and a bid as low as £6m could be enough to land the striker. However, no fee has been agreed between the two clubs as of yet and there are several other sides from across Europe also considering offers.
Torrid time at Stamford Bridge
Because of this, Besiktas have a backup plan. If they fail in their move for Gomez, they will launch one for Remy instead.
The Frenchman hasn’t had the best time at Stamford Bridge – he has started just nine league games for the Blues during his time at the club and he has failed to find the form that prompted Chelsea to splash out just over £10m for his services back in 2014.
However, he has confirmed he is willing to fight for his place at the club next season but with Conte looking to bring in his own players and with Costa and now Batshuayi also vying for a starting striker spot, he could find gametime even harder to come by.
If he does decide he wants first-team football elsewhere, then Besiktas now appears to be an option.
