Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku is ready to reject a move to London rivals Tottenham and sign for Everton on a permanent basis.
Lukaku, who spent last season on loan at Goodison, asked to leave parent club Chelsea in order to secure regular first-team football amid reports of a fall out with boss Jose Mourinho.
And now it is understood that Lukaku is only a few moments away from signing for Everton after prolonged talks between the two clubs.
The Belgian is said to have a strong bond with Everton boss Roberto Martinez, which ultimately has been the deciding factor for Lukaku’s future club.
Tottenham has made enquiries about the striker’s availibility and were willing to lodge a number of bids to secure the player’s signature.
But now Tottenham have decided to turn their attentions on Wilfried Bony as their search for a top class striker continues.
