Luke Shaw reveals he didn’t have any clue that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be the caretaker manager of Manchester United.
Solskjaer took the charge following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho from Old Trafford. The former Red Devil has taken a temporary break from his managerial role at Molde and is entirely focused on his current job.
The Norwegian manager led the team to two back to back wins and would be hoping for a third when they welcome Bournemouth on Saturday. Shaw has been a constant on the left side of the defence and is likely to keep his place in the starting lineup.
The left back is relishing a very good season so far and has also been rewarded with a new contract at the Old Trafford. He said, “The truth? My girlfriend told me.
“I woke up in the morning and had a shower and she ran out of the room and told me.
“I did not have a clue, I didn’t look at my phone or anything. That’s how I found out… from my girlfriend.”
“I think you can see from the outside how much he has changed things in such a short space of time.
“He is just a really positive manager, he knows what the club needs and also what the fans want in the way we are playing.
“He’s bringing that attacking, quick play back to Old Trafford. I’m sure the fans are going to appreciate that as much as we [the players] do.”
