Manchester United boss, Louis van Gaal has been promised another £100million to finish the job he has started. With £200million already spent on rebuilding his ageing squad, the Dutchman has FIVE more top targets in his sights.
Mats Hummels, Diego Godin, Kevin Strootman, Dani Alves and Arjen Robben are all being tracked and could be on their way to the red side of Manchester in the coming months.
According to The Guardian, the United boss is mostly focusing on his defensive options, with Dortmund’s Hummels and Atletico Madrid’s Godin the two top targets, with the possibility of Alves coming in at right full-back.
The Red Devils are also expected to trim the squad with some fringe players being shown the door to free up further cash. This could allow the additional transfers of long term target Strootman from Roma in midfield, and also Arjen Robben from Bayern.
It has to be said, United look serious. If they can nab a few of these players and fill some of the holes in their slightly dubious defence, they could well be a force again, sooner rather than later.
