Manchester City have only just overturned their Champions League ban and they are already finishing up business in the transfer market.
After what seemed to be a clear dent in their future, the Cityzens have been cleared to once again to spend on prominent names.
And the latest reports from Eurosport claim that they have reached a “total agreement” with Valencia winger, Ferran Torres. Previously the Daily Mail stated that Pep Guardiola was going to be handed a transfer kitty of ÂŁ150 million. City’s fortunes were overturned when their UEFA ban was lifted and their fines reduced to €10 million from €30 million.
Now, Guardiola will be free to revamp his squad to answer back after conceding this season’s title. Torres is a player who City have been scouting for some time. He is likely to come in as an immediate replacement for Leroy Sane who left for Bayern Munich last month on a ÂŁ54 million deal.
Torres has impressed in the La Liga this season, showcasing his technical abilities while collecting 8 goal contributions in 32 league appearances. He signed a contract extension with Valencia in 2018, inclusive of a release clause worth €100 million. Due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic and expiration date of the deal, the La Liga side will be forced to reduce their asking price.
