Manchester City are still keen on signing Arsenal star, Jack Wilshere, over the Summer as they continue to worry about homegrown players in their squad.

Due to the new Premier League rules, every club has to have a certain amount of English players in their squad and as it stands, City don’t have enough.

In recent years, City have lost a few English players that they did have. Scott Sinclair going on loan to Aston Villa, Jack Rodwell leaving for Sunderland, Adam Johnson joining The Black Cats as well, but Manuel Pellegrini is now keen on adding more homegrown stars.

If City could pull off a shock deal for Wilshere, he would become yet another talent to swap the Emirates for the Etihad, following in the footsteps of; Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Emmanuel Adebayor.

With his injury woes and also Arsenal’s options in the midfield, a deal could take place if the fee was right, but Arsene Wenger may be reluctant to see one of their youth graduates leave the club.
