Manchester United are the “clear favourites” to land Real Madrid star James Rodriguez, according to Guillem Balague.
The Spanish football expert and pundit has stated that while both Chelsea and Juventus are interested in signing the Colombian, Manchester United are ahead in the race for his services.
Rodriguez made his mark during the 2014 World Cup, with some outstanding performances for Colombia, this was enough to gain the attention of clubs all over the world, before he eventually signed for Los Blancos.
It has been a tough time for Rodriguez in Madrid however, struggling to cement down a first team place, with many Madrid fans feeling that he hasn’t quite lived up to expectations.
Rumours of a move to the Premier League have been around for a long while, with many suspecting Chelsea to place a bid this summer after they were said to have shown interest earlier in the season.
Juventus are also keeping tabs on Rodriguez, but it seems now Manchester United have the best chance to bring in the 25-year-old.
The slight hitch with the potential deal is, Real Madrid want €60m.
Here is the tweet from Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague:
“On James. RM want to sell for at least €60m MUFC clear favourite. Juve, Chelsea considering it. Just when stats show he’s at his best”
Still only 25, it is no surprise that Real expect such a big fee for the star, but is he really worth €60m, despite still being so young?
