United could be set to sign Belotti
Manchester United are closing in on signing Torino’s Andrea Belotti this summer, as long as they can meet his £84million release clause.
The clause was inserted into the Italian’s contract in December when he signed his new deal, and Torino will exercise that clause if he is to leave this summer.
He has been on the wishlist of Jose Mourinho all summer, for his fine form in Serie A. They are almost certain to be buying a striker this summer after Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a potential cruciate ligament injury in their Europa League tie with Anderlecht on Thursday.
With Ibrahimovic now out of the equation for the season at least, and Wayne Rooney expected to sever his ties at Old Trafford, United are in the hunt for two forwards.
Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann is a prime target – but the French forward has plenty of options and a deal is far from guaranteed.
