Manchester United eye Lewandowski to replace Falcao

Manchester United could make a big money summer bid for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, to replace flop Radamel Falcao.

The Daily Mail report that Lewandowski is part of Louis van Gaal’s planned summer spending spree.

The Pole however has scored a mere 11 goals in 28 matches in his first season at Bayern, failing to match his impressive record for Borussia Dortmund.

In terms of Falcao’s future, it looks increasingly likely he will leave United, the Reds seemingly not prepared to splash out ÂŁ43 million, on top of his ÂŁ265,000 weekly wage.

The Colombian has struggled to make his mark at Old Trafford since joining on loan from Monaco in January, scoring just four goals in 19 appearances.

Real Madrid are said to be potentially interested in the 29 year old, but Falcao’s next permanent employers will want him to rekindle the form he showed at Atletico Madrid.
