Jose Mourinho wants two new full-backs

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad this summer. Their priority is adding defensive reinforcements as Jose Mourinho claimed earlier but are expected to sell few players to accommodate new signings.

Despite having the most clean sheets and the second best defensive record in the Premier League this season, Mourinho is not happy as had to rely on auxiliary full-backs Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young and failed to settle on a consistent central defensive axis due to injuries.

Full backs Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw have fallen down the pecking order this season and have barely featured for the club. They both are out of contracts next season and are expected to be sold this summer.

The Portuguese manager wants to sign two new full backs this summer and one of them could be Serie A star. Manchester United are prioritizing the signing of Alex Sandro from Juventus as a Luke Shaw’s replacement, according to the Manchester Evening News .

Premier League giants were also interested in Danny Rose and Kieran Tierney but now have cool their interest on them according to reports and now wants to bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford this summer, who is cons one of the best full backs in the world.

Sandro has enjoyed another productive season for Juventus, playing almost 40 games as the club edge towards the Serie A title. The club values the 27 year old  around £52 million and has been been heavily linked with a move away in recent months.

Darmian has also been linked with a move away to the Italian giants and it could enable United to negotiate a player-plus-cash deal for the Brazil International, whose contract expires in 2020. Mourinho even hinted at a Brazilian summer signing few days ago.

“I think that a team without a Brazilian isn’t a team,” Mourinho said. “But also, a squad with three or four Brazilian athletes, depending on their profile, cannot make a great team too. I’m kidding!

“I think their talent is fantastic and the creativity of the Brazilian player cannot be measured. If a European team, like, very European, could have a Brazilian in their squad, it would bring a ‘Brazilian thing’ to the game and I think that’s very important.”
