Manchester United must improve, says Fletcher

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has admitted that the side must improve their recent form, if they want to be in the Champions League next season.

The Red Devils are currently ninth in the Premier League and are sitting 10 points off league leaders Arsenal, and Fletcher knows that improvement is needed if they want to be considered part of the title race and if they want to be in the Champions League next season.

Fletcher has been in and out of football for three years with a chronic bowel problem, but made his dramatic return to first-team action on Sunday during the 3-0 win over Aston Villa, but the 29-year-old knows that improvement is needed from the current group of players.

“I want to help us win to bring back the success we are used to,” he said.

“At least if they are winning you enjoy the moments. It is a lot more difficult when we are not.

“We need to go on a winning run and put ourselves in a position where people are saying we are still there,” added Fletcher.
