Borussia Dortmund star, Marco Reus, rejected the chance to speak to Louis Van Gaal on the phone, according to reports in Germany.
The midfielder has recently signed a new deal at the club, ending all speculation about his future this Summer, but according to Bild, Van Gaal tried to call Reus personally in order to tempt him to Manchester United.
However, the 25-year-old rejected the chance to talk to Van Gaal and signed a contract extension in Germany.
Reus signed a new four-year deal which saw his release clause of £20million de-activated, and it has now been revealed that United tried to tempt him to make a move in the Summer.
As well as United, Paris Saint-Germain offered Reus the chance to fly out to Paris in a private jet in order to hold talks, but that was also rejected by the midfielder.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid have all been linked with the German as well.
