Marco Verratti is all set to commit his long term contract as the midfielder has reportedly agreed to a brand new lucrative contract with Paris Saint Germain.

The Italian international joined the club back in 2012 and since then has only grown in the stature. The 26 year old has become the backbone of the French side in the last few years and the club wants to reward him for his contribution.

His existing contract is set to expire in 2021 but the club hierarchy is planning to offer him a new five year deal with a significant wage hike which could see him earning in the tune of €10m per season.

Verratti was linked with Barcelona and Manchester United in the past but has always showed his loyalty for his club. He played a central role in PSG’s 2-0 win over Manchester United in the Champions League as he won the midfield battle crushing the likes of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in the middle of the pitch.

Barcelona came very close in securing the player’s service but the midfielder decided to stay at the Parc Des Princess and his patience has paid off as he has become one of the best central midfielders amongst the top European leagues.
