Former-Liverpool defender believes Tottenham and United will draw

Every Friday before the weekend of Premier League action, BBC Pundit and former-Liverpool star Mark Lawrenson sits down and gives his predictions for the weekend’s games.

So with yet another Saturday and Sunday full of Premier League matches, here are his predictions.

SATURDAY:

Aston Villa 2-0 Sunderland

“Aston Villa have had their own problems at home but they will have been lifted by their second-half performance against West Brom on Monday.”

Cardiff City 0-2 Arsenal

“I really fancy Arsenal to get another positive result here because, as hard to beat as Cardiff are on their own patch, Arsenal’s midfield is going to be very difficult to stop.”

Everton 2-0 Stoke City

“I am expecting a similar high-tempo attacking approach from Everton this weekend too. Because of the way they went at Liverpool last week, I don’t think the crowd will let them sit back against Stoke and just knock the ball around.”

Norwich City 2-1 Crystal Palace
“After this, Norwich go to Anfield and The Hawthorns in the space of a week. They badly need to pick up points now.”
West Ham United 1-1 Fulham
“It is very difficult to tip either side to win this.”
Newcastle United 1-1 West Bromwich Albion
“Pardew got things right when Newcastle beat Norwich on Saturday but can he do it again against West Brom? I am not so sure. Usually something happens to put a spanner in the works.”
SUNDAY
Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Manchester United
“I am expecting Tottenham to come out and have a go at them and, if it is a nice open game, I can see it ending up a high-scoring draw.”
Hull City 0-2 Liverpool
“Liverpool have only kept one clean sheet since they beat Manchester United 1-0 on 1 September but I would back them to get one here and, with Luis Suarez in the form he is in, they will not be short of chances at the other end.”
Chelsea 2-0 Southampton
“I look at this game and think home win for Chelsea because they know how to get a result even when they are not playing particularly well.”
Manchester City 2-0 Swansea City
“Well, this is easy – Manchester City are at home, so I can just say “home win”.”
