Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic will undergo a medical at Liverpool tomorrow ahead of a £5.1million transfer, and he has confirmed it on social media.

The Serbia U21 international is also being closely monitored by Chelsea and Inter Milan, but since Grujic and his representatives held talks with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, he has been persuaded to move to Anfield.

The 19-year-old will become Klopp’s first transfer signing since taking over the managerial role at Liverpool, but Grujic will be loaned back to Red Star until the end of the season.

Grujic flew to Merseyside today and will now have a couple of medical tests prior to finalising the move by agreeing a long term deal.

On his official Facebook account, Grujic posted: “On Monday 4 January [I] will become a new player of Liverpool.”

Serbian news publication Danas revealed this week that he has been granted a British visa and will fly over to England in the New Year to complete the switch.

Grujic has scored five times in 21 games this campaign for Red Star, who sit 25 points clear at the top of the league table.
