Centre-back has been transfer target of Chelsea and Manchester United
Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has put both Chelsea and Manchester United on red-alert after admitting he’s considering a move away from the Ligue 1 champions.
The Brazilian centre-back is struggling for first-team football due to Thiago Silva and David Luiz being the defensive pairing in Laurent Blanc‘s side, and he’s confirmed in a recent interview that he’s ready to leave the club in order to play regular first-team football.
The 21-year-old cost PSG ÂŁ23million when they signed him from AS Roma, but due to Silva and Luiz, he’s failed to break into the first-team on a regular basis.
Marquinhos was a subject of two bids from Chelsea over the summer, but both were turned down by the Ligue 1 side, who are desperate to keep him as part of their long-term future.
However, in a recent interview, the defender himself has admitted he may look to move on should his game-time fail to improve.
Marquinhos Plotting Exit
“I will continue to work to get my place. But it’s true that there comes a moment when I am older.
“You can not always get used to the bench.
“There are six months to win titles and seek to hold. After, we’ll see what happens.”
