Matic ready to quit following confidence crisis

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic is considering his future after falling out of favour under interim boss Guus Hiddink.

Blues players already believe the  27-year-old has made up his mind that he will leave west London in the summer, having failed to recreate the form he produced last season.

Matic was criticised by former boss Jose Mourinho, in a campaign that has saw the club fail to challenge for the Premier League, having won the title last campaign.

Serb lacking confidence

Reports suggest he is lacking confidence, as John Obi Mikel has proved to be Hiddink’s favoured choice in the defensive midfield role.

It is a problem that is growing at Stamford Bridge, with a number of players reportedly ready to quit the club, including Thibaut Courtois.

It would be an embarrassment for Chelsea if the Belgium international was to leave. Having decided to instate him as first choice over club legend Petr Cech, who has subsequently enjoyed a good run of form with London rivals, Arsenal, they would have to find a replacement.

Eden Hazard, who has struggled for form this season also has been linked with Real Madrid and Manchester United, while Diego Costa and Oscar are all reportedly wanting to leave the Blues this summer.
