Mauricio Pochettino is hoping Tottenham Hotspur can start playing at their new stadium by the Christmas.
Spurs had hoped to shift to their new stadium early in this season but a number of delays have derailed their ambitions. The North London giants have been using Wembley as their makeshift home but will have to play their Carabao Cup action against Watford at MK Dons stadium.
There have been concerns over the completion of the stadium in the stipulated time as it is being feared supporters may have to wait until 2019 to get back to their seat at the new venue.
The state of the art stadium is deemed to be the dream project of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Pochettino insisted Levy assured him they would be able to move before the new year.
Pochettino said, “I am confident. This year. I am confident this year. I had a private conversation with Daniel, well not so private because Jesus (Perez) was there.
“I think they are confident. They are working hard to try to find the solution. I hope before the year ends, before Christmas, we can play. That’s my wish.
“We have conversations every day. He (Levy) called me this morning before training and yesterday (Monday) we took a coffee here at the restaurant.
“Sometimes he tells me, sometimes he opens the conversation about the stadium, sometimes I open the conversation and say, ‘Daniel, how is the stadium?’ and sometimes it’s tough to explain. But, yes, I am very confident before the end of the year.”
