Midfielder advised not to join Liverpool

Rubin Kazan manager Ribat Bilyaletdinov has told midfielder Yann M’Vila that he would only make the bench at Liverpool, if he was to move there this Summer.

The French international has been closely monitored by The Reds since January, and was seen with a Liverpool shirt ahead of the Merseyside Derby earlier in the campaign, but a move never materialised despite the numerous reports.

M’Vila, who made his name in France, has previously been strongly linked with Arsenal, but he eventually chose to join the Russian side due to Arsene Wenger not liking his attitude off the field.

Since then, Brendan Rodgers has been scouting the holding-midfielder, and despite the interest, M’Vila has been advised not to join the Premier League outfit.

“He has to prove his value and work like everyone else. I don’t mean that he doesn’t work, but we can see that he misses France.

“In January M’Vila behaved badly – one day he trained, one day he didn’t.

“Maybe his agents had promised him something. He thought he was already in Liverpool.

“I told him: ‘It is not your level. If you go, you will be on the bench’. He was very disappointed.

“Now I haven’t seen him for a while. I have been told he is in France to cure an injury. Even if he is back to full fitness, I don’t know where to play him.”
