It is believed scouts from the likes of Norwich, Newcastle and Aston Villa attended the return fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The Senegal international is available for around about £2 million and his indicated he would like to leave the Romanian outfit in January. The fact he has a Portugues passport means he will easily be able to acquire a work permit shoulod the move to the Premier League surface.

Sougou began his career in Senegal at AS Douanes before moving on to U.D. Leiria. He spent the 2005-06 season at Vitoria FC but returned to U.D. Leiria in the same year. It was in 2008 that he began to turn heads, he gained a move to Academica de Coimbra and made his debut for Senegal in the 2008 African Cup of Nations. He scored 19 goals in 80 appearances for Academica, he spent a season under the guidance of current Tottenham manager, Andre Villas Boas, who made him a regular for the Portuguese side.

He joined CFR Cluj in the summer of 2011, scoring two goals in his first two games.
