Liverpool Defender Alberto Moreno has come out to say that he will not celebrate a goal against Sevilla, not even if it was the winner.

The Seville-born full-back had spent his entire career at the club, from joining as a 12-year-old until moving to Liverpool in 2014. He holds the club very close to his heart.

Tomorrow night sees a very emotional return to his boyhood team, In a match which is arguably liverpool’s biggest of the season.

“Even if it was the winner, I wouldn’t celebrate,” he told News outlet Marca .

“Sevilla is my home, my city, I have friends and teammates there, it was the club that has made me a footballer.

“For many reasons I couldn’t and wouldn’t celebrate. It might even make me cry with joy and sadness at the same time.

“It’s all going to be very weird.”

However, despite his love for Sevilla, the Spanish International player insists he remains determined to lift the Europa League trophy for the merseyside club, and do his job professionally for Liverpool.

“I’ve always said that if Liverpool didn’t win the Europa League then I’d wanted it to be Sevilla,” he said.

“Now we’ve got to this stage, I’d be lying if I said I wanted them to win.

“I belong to Liverpool and I want them to win with all of my being.”
