Moses permanent deal put on hold

Stoke chairman Peter Coates has said that the club are in no hurry to sign Victor Moses on a permanent deal from Chelsea.

The Nigerian winger is currently on loan from the Blues until the end of the season.

He has impressed so far this campaign, chipping in with two assists and his performance on Monday night against Newcastle was terrific.

Stoke won 1-0 courtesy of Peter Crouch’s header from Moses’ pinpoint cross.

That was Stoke’s first home win of the season, having started with two home defeats to Aston Villa and Leicester respectively.

After struggling on loan at Liverpool last season, Moses seems to have settled in quickly at the Britannia and his partnership with veteran Crouch could be a fruitful one.

Chairman Coates takes a more cautious take on Moses’ start saying “it is still early days”.

He went onto say that no permanent deal has been agreed despite rumours.

“We haven’t even discussed it yet because we are so early into the season and such a lot can happen, so there is no sense of urgency.

“I’m just pleased with what he has produced so far and pleased that we have him for the whole season. He’s hard-working, clever and looks a very good player.”
