Jose Mourinho has said that Manchester City has an in-depth understanding of every detail of the game.
The former Manchester United manager hailed Pep Guardiola for winning the Carabao Cup.
Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hailed his former rivals Manchester City and their approach to every game. On the eve of the Citizens winning their second trophy of the season as they successfully defended their Carabao Cup title against Chelsea, the Portuguese gaffer took the opportunity to lavish praise on the reigning Premier League champions.
He said, “City are a team that knows everything.”
Mourinho added, “And when I say it knows everything, it knows how to exploit all the little things in games that only experienced teams with smart people, with many kilometres in their legs at this very high level, know how to control. Trying to get a yellow here or a yellow here in groups of players, three or four, around the referees trying to influence a decision. It is a team that plays football as well as it does so well this management of small details that ends up being important.”
The Citizens won the title in a penalty shootout after a stalemate between them and opponents Chelsea during the regulation as well as extra time in the final at the Wembley Stadium.
