Jose Mourinho is set to reignite interest in West Ham’s Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia. The Chelsea boss reportedly had the 25-year-old on his shortlist this winter but settled for pursuing Douglas Costa of Shakhtar Donetsk and recent recruit Juan Cuadrado.

Valencia on recently moved from Pachuca, but has impressed in the Premier League with his versatility, allowing those around him – Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho – to find their best form as well.

Despite his recent assertions that he wants to stay, Mourinho is still considering Didier Drogba’s position in the Chelsea squad, and sees Valencia as a good replacement for the possibly outgoing Chelsea legend.

West Ham will already have their eyes on replacements, knowing that once Chelsea set their sights on a target, they rarely fail to succeed.
