Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has hailed team-mates Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil as he believes they are the two players that can guide The Gunners to silverware.
It has been a long time since Arsene Wenger’s side won a trophy, and despite being close on numerous occasions since 2005, they always seem to fall short.
Losses in two Capital One Cup finals, a Champions League final defeat and a late-slump in a title race bring up bad memories for Arsenal fans, but according to left-back Monreal, they have enough quality to end the drought.
He said: ‘Ozil is a star. Real Madrid is full of stars so I was surprised that they let him come to Arsenal.
‘I wasn’t expecting it. We are so proud to have him at Arsenal.
‘Him and Cazorla are our stand-out players. Cazorla is more extravert and Ozil is quieter.
‘There was a jump in quality when I signed for Arsenal, which is an historic Premier League club.
‘We want to win as much as possible and it’s true that Arsenal have helped me get in the Spain squad.’
