Newcaslte boss Alan Pardew has admitted that the club still holds major interest in signing QPR forward Loic Remy on a permanent basis.
Remy appeared to be set for a move to Anfield last week, as QPR agreed a £8.5m move with Liverpool but for the deal to fall through over a failed medical.
The France hitman has not been taken with QPR on their pre-season camp in Ireland, indicating that he definately does not have a future at Loftus Road.
But after a very impressive loan-spell at Newcastle last-season, Pardew remains keen to bring back the player.
‘It’s a straightforward deal if Loic and QPR decide to do business with us,’ said Pardew.
‘The results speak for themselves. The fans loved him and I think it’s a great place for him personally.
‘There is a lot of baggage in the way at the moment because of what happened at Liverpool, and the fact he has a parent club in QPR.
‘But I wouldn’t say we’re not interested in him, of course we would be.’
