Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri joins Granada on loan
Facundo Pellistri has sealed a temporary departure from Manchester United, as he embarks on a loan journey with Granada until the culmination of the current season.
The 22-year-old winger underwent a thorough medical examination on Wednesday before finalizing the deal, marking his third loan stint since joining United from Penarol in 2020.

Having featured in 14 matches for the Red Devils this season, Pellistri’s move to Granada comes as Erik ten Hag’s squad faces a less demanding fixture schedule post their exit from European competitions before the holiday season.
His departure adds to a list of players leaving Old Trafford in the January transfer window, including notable names like Donny van de Beek and Jadon Sancho.
With Pellistri’s departure, attention now turns to the fate of Amad, as the 21-year-old attracts interest for a potential loan move. However, United’s striking options have taken a hit with Anthony Martial sidelined due to a groin injury for over two months.
This leaves Ten Hag with limited senior forwards, comprising Rasmus Højlund, Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho.
Despite the shortage, United are unlikely to make a last-minute move for another attacking player before the transfer deadline, given financial constraints and a focus on preparations for the upcoming summer window.
The club’s recruitment strategy undergoes a shift under the guidance of new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team, signaling a calculated approach towards future acquisitions.
As Pellistri embraces his new challenge with Granada, the winger aims to make a significant impact during his loan spell while United navigate through a transitional phase under evolving leadership.
