Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has been strongly linked with PSG for some time, leading the race for the Frenchman’s signature ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal.

Cabaye however has played down rumours that the Parisiens are chasing him and added he had recieved no contact from the Ligue 1 giants. He still refused to rule out a move though, adding: “Who wouldn’t want to join PSG today?”

Towards the end of the summer transfer window, Arsene Wenger was keen to sign the Frenchman but had a number of bids rejected by the Tyne-side club. Cabaye was left out of the squad at the start of the season as a result but has managed to find his form and a regualr place in the starting 11.

Pardew is slightly reluctant to see his star midfielder leave and adds that his side’s financial postion means they are under no ogligation to sell players.

Pardew said: “I am pretty confident that my owner and the club are in a great financial position. I would be a lot more nervous if we weren’t,”

“He’s a great player, there are always going to be big clubs sniffing around him. We are fortunate to have him, we are enjoying him while he is here and long may that continue.”
