Mauricio Pochettino has said that Tottenham Hotspur need to focus on realistic targets.

Spurs faced FA Cup exit after losing 2-0 to Crystal Palace in their last match.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that the north London club need to focus on realistic targets for the rest of the season. Spurs have missed out on winning both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in back to back matches after losing to London rivals Chelsea and Crystal Palace. Moreover, the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli have been sidelined with injuries which has hit their Premier League campaign hard this season.

Speaking to the media after their FA Cup exit, Pochettino said, “People wish we could win some trophies. But being realistic, we are doing so well.”

He added, “To win a title here in England like the FA Cup or Carabao (League) Cup is about being lucky, not only about quality in your squad. We are going to create a debate that to win a trophy is going to help the club. I don’t agree with that. That only builds your ego. In reality the most important thing is being consistently in the top four and playing in the Champions League. That is going to help the club to achieve the last step.”
