Everton have ‘reached the end of the line’ with Barkley contract talks
Everton will reluctantly listen to offers for midfielder Ross Barkley this summer, after reaching a dead end with his contract negotiations.
The Everton star has had another good season at Goodison Park but has been the reported target of Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs.
He has been offered £100,000 per week to stay, but is refusing to accept that as he wants more. There have been over a year’s worth of negotiations between him and the club to decide his future.
However, Everton have indicated an initial asking price of £50million. This could create a problem for any clubs wanting to buy him and they don’t rate him that highly. On that basis, Barkley is considering just seeing out the final year of his current Toffee’s contract and moving for free next summer.
It could be a busy summer for Everton at this rate, with striker Romelu Lukaku also believed to want to leave the club.
