Premier League quartet quoted £60m for Ross Barkley

Everton have put a £60million price-tag on the head of midfield star, Ross Barkley, amid interest from four of the Premier League giants.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all reportedly looking into signing the young Englishman and were hoping to strike a deal with The Toffees next season, but after a Summer of spending themselves, Everton officials have alarmed Premier League clubs with the news that they no longer have to sell their biggest stars.

A few years ago, Everton were a club that would sell their main-men for money which would then be re-invested in the team, but after spending nearly £30m on Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, the club are now in a strong financial position.

With four of English’s biggest teams circling them for their star-asset, they have alarmed the clubs by saying they’d only accept offers around the £60m mark.

The 20-year-old bursted onto the scene last season and was even taken to Brazil by Roy Hodgson for the World Cup, but a serious injury in pre-season has kept him off the pitch for the majority of this season.

However, that hasn’t stopped clubs sniffing around for the English starlet, with City the favourites to sign him as a potential Yaya Toure replacement.

The Ivorian hasn’t been at his best so far this season and the champions could be willing to lose the powerhouse midfielder if they could replace him with Barkley.
