PSG are looking to offer Messi a new two-year deal.
PSG will reportedly resume contract talks with Lionel Messi when he returns from the World Cup in Qatar.
The 35-year-old Argentina star has been in great form this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists in his 19 appearances.
Messi joined PSG in the summer of 2021 and his contract is set to expire next summer. The Ligue 1 champions are keen to agree an extension following rumours of a possible return to Barcelona.
According to the Daily Mail, the French club will have to wait until after Messi represents Argentina at the World Cup before they resume contract negotiations.
The report adds that PSG are looking to offer Messi a new two-year deal in a bid to ward off interest from his former side.
Barcelona club president Joan Laporta recently refused to rule out a return for Messi, who scored 672 goals and registered 302 assists in 777 appearances for the Catalan giants.
