Liverpool star could earn £4million if he joins Manchester City
Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling could earn himself a nice £4million if he completes a summer switch to Manchester City, according to reports.
The Premier League runners-up have been trying to lure the England international to the Etihad Stadium all summer, making two formal bids for the 20-year-old, but have seen them rejected on both occasions.
Formal Offers
The initial bid was worth around £25m, whilst the second one was worth £40m. However, both were turned down by Liverpool as they have set a £50m asking-price for their star-winger.
According to reports, City could make a third and final offer for Sterling as soon as this week, with reports suggesting they will offer £45m up front and then a further £5m in add-ons, making the total match Liverpool’s asking-price.
£4m Pay-Off
However, there could be an extra incentive for Sterling to swap Anfield for the Etihad as it could earn himself £4m.
It’s reported that the winger could get a hefty cut of the agent fees if he does move to City this summer and it’s claimed that he will earn himself a one-off payment of around £4m.
Sterling has been strongly linked with a move away from Liverpool after he turned down a contract extension worth £100k-a-week.
Things were then made worse when his agent got involved and insisted that no contract offer would be accepted by the winger, even if it was worth £900k-a-week.
The England international is adamant his future is about being at the right club and competing for trophies, and not about money.
However a move away this summer could benefit his bank account drastically.
