Chelsea have found themselves in a very favourable position after their 4-0 victory over London rivals Tottenham on Saturday. Mourinho’s side have however played more fixtures than the teams below them, with Arsenal and Liverpool having a game in hand and Manchester City having three.

If City win all their games they will return to the top of the table on goal difference, and with all still to play for as the teams really push for as high a finish as possible, Ramires acknowledges the little room for error.

The Brazilian told Globo Esporte“Manchester City have games in hand and a lot can happen.

“We have to keep focusing on a game at a time, we can’t fall into the trap of thinking that everything is okay.

“Any slip-up could be fatal at this point in the league.”

Ramires also believes the role of the fans are important to the team and the Blues faithful have helped guide the team to the summit of English football:  “The fans at Stamford Bridge have been our 12th player, they are creating an atmosphere which really helps our team.

“It’s hard not to be excited right now but there is still a lot to be done before we can talk about the title.”
