Real Madrid defender Pepe has hit back at his former-boss Jose Mourinho by claiming that Carlo Ancelotti is the better manager between the two.
Now at Chelsea, Mourinho accused Madrid stars of waiting in line in front of a mirror before matches in order to check that they looked alright before a match.
However, Pepe has now hit back at Mourinho by claiming that every human being looks in a mirror throughout their daily routine.
‘Mourinho will be the only human being who gets up in the morning and doesn’t look in the mirror,’ he told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
‘These are things that everyone does in everyday life and shouldn’t be criticised. It has not affected us at all.
‘It’s normal to try and put on a good image for the club when we play. We are Real Madrid, when we go out there are the cameras, the media. I think it’s totally normal.’
The Portuguese defender then continued by saying current-boss Ancelotti understands the needs of a footballer and has calmed the ship at the Bernabeu.
‘He has calmed everything and helped us reach the point where we can show the most,’ said the 31-year-old.
‘I feel comfortable with him because he is a very close person and understands the needs of a footballer.’
