Spanish side Real Madrid are preparing to make a £25.000,000 bid for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney in the Summer in order to test their determination to keep the Englishman.
At the end of this current season, Rooney will only have 12-months left on his contract, and United could face losing him on a free the season after if they do not get him to extend his contract or sell-up this year.
The 28-year-old has been wanted by Premier League sides Chelsea and Arsenal, but now Madrid, who have given up on their pursuit for Manchester City star Sergio Aguero, are ready to bid for the English international and are feeling hopeful that a deal can be agreed.
As well as Rooney, Madrid are also closely monitoring Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and AS Monaco’s Radamel Falcao.
