Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina has made it clear that he will be playing his football at Anfield next season.
The keeper has been linked with a move back to Napoli after a succesfull loan spell in Italy last season.
But it is understood that many complications have blocked any deal from being agreed, with Liverpool’s valuation of the player preventing any bids from being made.
Reina has previously said that he would prefer to stay in Italy, but it looks likely that Liverpool will be his destination next year.
Napoli boss Rafael Benitez has also confirmed that no deal will take place.
Benitez said: “We don’t seek a goalkeeper.”
Now that Benitez has ruled out a move to sign the Liverpool man on a permanent basis Reina has accpeted his fate and believes that he will be playing his football at Anfield next season.
He said: “For now I will return to Liverpool.
“That is the only certainty I have.
“I have a two-year contract with Liverpool, so I have no other news to tell you.”
