Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly ‘on-track’ to make a return to Manchester United next summer.

Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes, whos clients also include Angel di Maria and Falcao, has apparently made up his mind deciding that all of those players will be at Old trafford in years time.

Mendes orchestrated James Rodriguez’s move to Real earlier this summer but has since invoked the ire of the Spanish giant’s president Florentino Perez.

Perez was unhappy that Mendes allowed Di Maria to publish an open letter seemingly criticising Real upon leaving for Manchester United and then bristled when asked why he had failed to sign Falcao.

Indeed, Perez responded to that question by saying: “If we had signed Falcao, we may as well have made Mendes president.”

Now there are suggestions that Mendes’ actions may be the result of a carefully plan to get Ronaldo back to United next summer.

The Manchester outfit are believed to have set aside ÂŁ55m to fund a move for their former player, who himself has spoken of his desire to return “one day”.

Increasingly, it looks as though Mendes is laying the groundwork to ensure that that move comes sooner rather than later.
