Maurizio Sarri has said that Eden Hazard has the same impact as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Chelsea talisman scored two goals to see his side get over the line against Watford in their Boxing Day matchup.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has hailed Eden Hazard’s impact on the side, comparing it to be the same as that of Messi and Ronaldo on their respective clubs. The Belgian skipper scored twice in the match against Watford as the Blues registered a 2-1 victory over the hosts at Vicarage Road. The win strengthens their position in the top four even more with 40 points from 19 games this season.

Speaking to the media after the match, the Italian gaffer said, “He is very important for us. Messi is very important for Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo is very important for Juventus. He is a very great player. He is able to play in every position. At the moment he is playing as a false number nine and he is very able to play in that position. Today he scored two goals and I think he made two or three very good [chances]. He is very able to come play with team-mates and to open space for his team-mates.”

Chelsea are set to travel to Selhurst Park for their next match against their South London neighbours Crystal Palace.
