Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has praised Arsenal manager Unai Emery ahead of Fuham’s match against Arsenal at Craven Cottage today. The match will be the first time both teams will meet since January, 2014.

Arsenal started poorly under Unai Emery after losing their first two Premier League matches against Manchester City and Chelsea. However, the Gunners have rebounded brilliantly, winning their next 5 matches in a row. Arsenal are currently enjoying a winning streak of 8 matches across all competitions.

Emery has adopted a very attacking style at Arsenal and Jokanovic says that it is a very brave approach by Emery to stick to it despite Arsenel Wenger departing not long back.

The Fulham boss said that Emery deserves credit for the impact he has had on Arsenal. He said, “They reset the club in some ways after Wenger, choosing a different (philosophy). The team right now is brave; really offensive at a good level. Arsenal’s an important club so he doesn’t have much space to make mistakes, but there’s enough quality for him.

It’s not an easy place to arrive when someone’s been coaching Arsenal for 22 years. They found a really good, quality coach.

I’ve followed him; for the last 10 years he’s been at a really top level with Sevilla, Valencia, Paris Saint-Germain and in Russia. Emery’s good tactically; he’s really good at planning offensive and defensive set-pieces. He’s a great worker. He seems to live the profession 24 hours a day.

I believe he’s going to be successful with the team. He’s started really well after those two games (defeats by Manchester City and Chelsea).”

Arsenal will hope to register their 9th win today against Fulham while Fulham need a win to stay clearer of the relegation zone.
