Southampton have now slapped a £25 million price tag on their midfield star, Adam Lallana after Liverpool bid £20 million pounds earlier this month.
Liverpool thought that £20 million would have been enough to prize away the player from Southampton, but this seems to not be the case.
Southampton are willing to drag out the process until Liverpool meet their demands, eventhought England boss, Roy Hodgson wanted all deals done before the World Cup starts.
It is understood that Liverpool will eye a move for Bayern Munich midfielder, Xherdan Shaqiri if the Lallana deal falls through.
