Steven Gerrard captain of Liverpool has reached many milestones in his 15 years at the club. These include winning many trophies with the club such as the FA Cup, League Cup, FA Community Shield, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup & the UEFA Super Cup. Saturday’s match between Liverpool & Newcastle United ended in a draw and resulted in Liverpool dropping a place in the premier league however this was overshadowed by Steven Gerrard scoring his 100th goal for the club in style in the 42nd minute to draw the club level at 1-1 after an absolute scorcher from Yohan Cabaye in the 23rd minute. The clubs were level at 1-1 at half-time however Liverpool were forced to draw level with Newcastle after a goal from Paul Dummet in the 56th minute and liverpool did it again with a Daniel Sturridge goal in the 72nd minute however with 18 mins left on the clock they were unable to finish off Newcastle United.

The game on Saturday between Newcastle United & Liverpool finished in a draw and were equally matched however a few players stood out with good performances such as Yohan Cabaye & Steven Gerrard. Newcastle United were rather unfortunate receiving a red card in 40th minute when Newcastle defender Yanga-Mbiwa took down Luis Suarez in the box which then resulted in Steven Gerrard’s 100th goal from the penalty spot. The end of the game resulted in Steven Gerrard winning man of the match.

Recently Steven Gerrard has been on red hot form scoring in 2 games in a row both being penalties the first one being against Crystal Palace on the 5th October. Liverpool have got a very strong pair of strikers in Luis Suarez & Daniel Sturridge however Captain Steven Gerrard still proves to be a goal threat. Steven Gerrard even at the age of 33 is still showing us that he is a high quality player captaining country and club not only scoring at club level he also scored in the World Cup Qualifier against Poland on Tuesday 15th October.
