The Potters and Liverpool are battling it out to sign the winger

Mark Hughes is hopeful of signing Adama Traore on loan over Liverpool, according to the Express.

The Barcelona man is free to go out on loan to another club this summer and both Stoke and Liverpool have been vying for his signature. West Ham and Aston Villa have also been linked with the 19-year old.

However, Mark Hughes is confident that his side will be the ones to secure his signature, as he said: “We’ve had discussions with him (Traore) and they are ongoing.

“Obviously with a player like him there’s other clubs talking to him. It’s not in our remit to make the decision for him.”

Traore has been involved with the senior side since 2013, although he has only made one appearance for the club to date.
