Daniel Sturridge was hurt during the game against Germany and playeed through the pain and may not be able to play the merseyside derby this weekend. Sturridge is doubtful for the upcoming league game for Liverpool as he played 90 minutes for England midweek and he also had a thigh problem. He actually left early in training the day before the match yet Roy Hodgson still played him for the friendly and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is worried at the affect this will have on him and the Reds upcoming game.
The England international admitted that it was his desicion to play the full 90 minutes. The Liverpool manager beleives that the on form striker plays best when he trains regularly yet due to the small amount of training with the international team he feels that this may affect Sturridge. His team-mate and captain Steven Gerrard is also a doubt for the upcoming match with a hip problem. Although both Sturridge & Gerrard are doubtful one man who is certainly not playing is Jose Enrique with a knee injury.
Enrique will soon be undergoing surgery for his knee.
