Theo Walcott is back from injury and ready to face his old club Southampton. It has been confirmed that he will be available for this weekends game. Walcott has returned after 2 months out injured after having minor abdominal surgery. Arsene Wenger hopes that the striker will make all the difference in recovering from their 1-0 loss to Manchester United.

Arsene Wenger said: “Theo will be back for saturday in the squad. He’s completely fit again. He has not played for a long time, of course, he has not played even a reserve team game, but I will put him in the squad on saturday.”

“Ofcourse you miss a player like Theo Walcott. Strikers who get behind the defenders have a very important quality and Theo has that quality. Theo had a good start to the season, he scored goals, he provided chances and had assists. He can always give you a different option in the game and that is of course vital.”

Wenger hopes that the England international can provide added support to Olivier Giroud & Mesut Ozil.

“You always want to have a perfect balance (in attack), and if you look at our results our balance was not too bad, but Theo has different qualitites to other players and I am very pleased that he’s back.

Tomas Rosicky will be available in the match against Southampton following a sickness bug however Lukas Podolski is still unavailable however will be available soon.

On Podolski, Wenger said: “He is doing fitness training on the pitch and starts to do some ball work too, he still needs two or three weeks before we see him on the pitch for Arsenal.”
