Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is willing to remain in Spain for a fourth successive season if that means he can keep playing regular football.
The Belgium shot-stopper, who is on loan from Premier League side Chelsea, has spent the last three years in Spain with Atletico, and according to reports, he is ready to make it a fourth year in La Liga with the club.
In recent interviews, Courtois has admitted that he doesn’t want to return to Stamford Bridge just to be a back-up for Petr Cech, and at the moment, it appears that the Czech goalkeeper is still firmly Jose Mourinho’s number-one, despite Courtois’ growing reputation.
The 21-year-old still hasn’t made a first-team appearance for The Blues and despite interest from both Atletico and Real Madrid over a permanent move, it looks like another loan move may be the only option for the Belgium.
